PALESTINE

Palestine is not internationally recognized as a state. The Palestinian Authority governs the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank, areas previously controlled by Egypt and Jordan respectively and occupied by Israel since 1967. Palestinians consider East Jerusalem, which is controlled by Israel, their capital. Palestinian lands border Israel, Jordan and Egypt.
