SOMALIA

Somalia. Capital: Mogadishu. Somalia is located in eastern Africa, east of Ethiopia. It borders the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. Somalia has not had a functioning central government since 1991. Somaliland and Puntland have emerged as semi-autonomous regions. A Transitional National Government was created in 2000 with a three-year mandate to create a permanent national government
